About us
Leadership
We bring to the area an expertise in common core. Our team has written curriculum maps for common core, written unit and lesson plans, assessments and data tracking systems for the common core shift. We know how to plan and implement lessons that get results.
Our team consists of data savvy curriculum experts, and we have two positions within our staffing structure that focus on the achievement of students. The principal is responsible for the daily teaching and learning and the Academic Director is responsible for teacher development and coaching that produces tangible student achievement results.
In addition to a strong academic team, we have a Head of School whose job is to allow the academics to occur uninterrupted. In addition to running to facility, this person will also plan and implement a character development program that will serve as a foundation for our students’ lifelong success. In this way we are enveloping our school with support from the academics, to facilities, to character development and community outreach.
Management and Financial Oversight
In addition to school level staff, a small team of leaders will steward our money, assure sponsor compliance and lead the school towards obtaining the mission and vision. This team consists of the Finance Director, EMIS coordinator, School Lunch Coordinator, Executive School Director, and the Board of Trustees. We will also hire a Treasurer who contracts with charter schools throughout the state to support the careful stewardship of our finances.
The Treasurer, Finance Director and the Board of Trustees will work together to approve budgets, manage purchases and project future needs. The Board will meet monthly to review financial standing and provide guidance to the team. The Executive School Director will support in grant writing and event planning to secure additional funds as needed.
The Executive School Director and Academic Director will work with the Cleveland Metropolitan School District to maintain compliance with all sponsor and state regulations. The EMIS Coordinator and National School Lunch Program Coordinator will further assist in maintaining compliance with these two key programs. Our commitment to excellence extends beyond the classroom to the successful partnerships we develop with our sponsor and the Ohio Department of Education. For this reason, the Executive School Director will serve as the primary liaison for these entities to ensure streamlined, timely communication.
The Executive School Director is also the primary visionary for the school, and is responsible for setting and maintaining the course for the school through strategic planning with the Board. Together, they will set short and long-term goals that align daily practice with the mission and vision and push the school to become a pillar of excellence within the community.
In order to maintain the excellence we achieve, Erudite Academy needs to retain strong teachers, and be at the forefront of best teaching and learning practices. The financial plans we set forth will help us to reach these goals. First, investing in an Academic Director who focuses on coaching teachers through one-on-one plans, professional development and consistent observation allows us to train and retain quality teachers. Over time this will save money in recruitment, and will help us to reach our goals of student success in college and careers.
Additionally, our salaries for all staff include incentive bonuses twice per year that are directly linked to the mission and vision of Erudite Academy. These bonuses are voted on by the Board of Trustees and provided as reinforcement for the work staff does that gets us closer to the realization of our mission. One example if that the Head of School receives bonuses in part based on his ability to maintain the building using sound long-term financial practices and producing and staying within a reasonable budget. This allows us to maximize the amount of money we use to directly support academic success.
Conclusion
Erudite Academy is positioned to succeed within the city of Cleveland by providing strong academics, positive character development, sound financial practices and layers of support for every member of our Erudite family. Our founding team believes in the power of positive relationship building and truly feels like a family. We are passionate about educating kids and are ready to make a difference in the community and are prepared to move in, stay and make an impact.
